Australia, Commonwealth of (Press Release) July 3, 2008 --
The perfect part-time job for a student depends a lot on exactly how old that student is, and what is available in the close vicinity. If they cannot yet drive but must depend on public transport or their parents to take them, then they need close access. Many younger students are delighted to score work in the many fast food industries that seem to like employing the very young. Others are happy to stack supermarket shelves in the evenings.
If the student is attending uni, then a job that can be worked around their class schedule will be the ideal. By this time they can usually drive a car, so distance is not the biggest factor. However, many students don’t like to work weekends or Friday/Saturday nights due to this being their party time. Early morning starts are often out too, since most students habitually stay up late and then like to sleep in.
They may be happy with a job of waitressing or doing checkout duty at a big retail store. Whatever type of job the student is after, they can go online and find many different types of part-time jobs. There will surely be one to suit them.
