Wheatmark author Donna Kshir is being called the short story sensation. She is blessed with the gift of words, as she makes you feel her characters presence.
Kshir's newest book titled, Dear Diary- Oh Mother is dramatically climbing the charts on the Barnes and Noble website.
Kshir's writing has been compared to Dave Pelzer, as she best known for her ability to paint negative images, that touch and feel like reality.
In April, Kshir released her first book titled, "My Life's Fight." Kshir told the dramatic life story of mixed martial arts fighter Mark Bailey.
Kshir's second book titled, "Dear Diary- Oh Mother" is the first of a six book fictional series. The series is based on a elderly woman named Jade and her life experiences.
Throughout the book, Jade is an outcast. After spending her childhood and most of her adult life feeling the biggest dissapointment of her Mother's life. Jade overcomes, gets married, and is blessed with unconditional love for her husband and children.
Althought she finds true love and happiness, she struggles for her step-mother's love and approval, that has caused a lifetime pain and regret. Jade reveals a shocking secret, that changes everything. By the end of the story, you will be in tears as you feel Jade's pain.
Excerpt from Dear Diary- Oh Mother:
“I can understand that you took in a child that wasn’t yours, but you knew my dad was widowed and that he had a child before you married him. All
those years you regretted me because of Daddy’s love of Elizabeth.
“I now see the problem laid with you, not me. I spent too much of my life trying to make you see what kind of a person I really was. I waited for a
change in your behavior, but it never happened. The older you got, the worse you got.
“I strove to meet your approval. Just once I wanted to hear you say I was good at something. All I ever wanted from you was your love and your approval. Was I really so hard to love?
“Mother, you don’t know how many times I got down on my hands and knees and prayed to God for you to love me. I promised God I would settle for you to just like me.
“All I ever wanted was to be included, part of your family. I have spent a lifetime carrying the weight of hard feelings and pain.
“Mother, are you listening? I want you to hear this. I forgive you. Yes, I forgive you. I have to forgive you to find peace in myself. Like a disease, you have been slowly eating away at me."
