Pentek Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Certification for Quality Management Systems

(Free-Press-Release.com) July 14, 2008 -- UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ–July 15, 2008–Pentek, Inc., a pioneer in embedded computing innovation, has achieved ISO 9001:2000 quality management system (QMS) certification by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), demonstrating Pentek’s long-standing commitment to quality-of-service standards and customer satisfaction.

ISO 9001:2000 certification measures a company’s ability to meet and improve upon customer satisfaction and quality. Pentek’s certification demonstrates adherence to documented quality processes and procedures that ensure ongoing improvements in the development, production and support of Pentek’s computer boards and systems.

The certification process began in April 2008 when Pentek executed internal audits throughout the company. To verify that ISO initiatives were achieved, a comprehensive quality management system review was implemented that addressed all areas of operation — from engineering, product design and manufacturing to delivery and customer service. An independent auditing agency, SGS Systems and Services, conducted all ISO audits, including a review of business and quality systems, product design and documentation, and customer satisfaction tracking and ratings. In June 2008, SGS certified that Pentek had successfully passed all company-wide audits and achieved full certification for the design and manufacturing of digital signal processing (DSP), data-acquisition and software radio products.

“Conformance to ISO 9001:2000 quality-assurance standards required the implementation of some procedural changes. We identified areas for improvement and created recommendations to resolve and streamline processes,” said Danny Shamah, president, Pentek. “The result is that Pentek has created a focused, systematic approach to overall quality management that will improve service quality now and in the future,” he added.
