United States of America (Press Release) July 23, 2008 --
YTB International Inc., a provider of Internet-based travel booking services for travel agencies and home-based independent representatives, said it's moving to a franchise model sometime in 2009 according to founder J. Loyd (Coach)Tomer in a conference call to company representatives and directors.
Although exact plans and details were not released during the company wide conference call concerning the YTB travel franchise opportunity, the company will launch a new website http://www.ytbfranchiseopportunity.com to release information on the YTB travel franchise opportunity as it becomes available.
The company said it expects that a YTB travel franchise opportunity model, if adopted, would help it expand into additional markets and still treat the existing RTA’s favorably.
The company hired iFranchise of Chicago for consultation on this switch, said Scott Tomer, CEO of YTB.
YTB made the Travel Weekly list of top travel companies for 2006 and came in at number 26 compared to number 36 in 2005. YTB’s goal is to be the largest travel company by 2011 as is well on it’s way.
YTB swung to a profit of $3.2 million in 2007 on revenue of $141.3 million, compared to a loss of nearly $6 million on revenue of $50.9 million in 2006.
