This feature was conceived in response to the increasing use of "blanket" insurance endorsements, which only apply "where required by contract." Consequently, both the endorsement and the contract requiring such endorsement must be accessible to trigger indemnity or defense, or to grant certain waiver of subrogation rights under a policy.
