TECH Fort Worth client Office Authority
‘launched’ with new office opening at 3320 S. Jones
FORT WORTH, Texas (August 4, 2008) – TECH Fort Worth has launched another Fort Worth business: Office Authority, which moves August 6 to 3220 S. Jones.
TECH Fort Worth is a nonprofit technology incubator with a mission to grow the technology-based economy of Fort Worth by mentoring, coaching and relentlessly pushing client companies toward success. TECH Fort Worth is a public-private partnership of the City of Fort Worth, the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, and the local business community.
Office Authority is a web-based, just-in-time office supply company for small-to-midsize business clients. President John Elliott started Office Authority with the idea that less warehoused inventory would mean lower overhead and lower prices. It has run operations out of TECH Fort Worth’s facility while enrolled in its Acceleration Program.
Elliott credited his ability to get the company successfully started to the assistance he has received from TECH Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Business Assistance Center. “When I decided to start my company, I knew I wanted it to be in Fort Worth,” he said “TECH Fort Worth gave me the perfect platform from which to begin interacting with other businesses in the area.
“Office Authority is continuing to grow every month. We are excited about our new location and our future as we continue to provide Fort Worth businesses with top-quality office products when they need them, at the price they need them and with the highest level of customer service.”
Office Authority features Offi-scan, a bar code reader that scans products, and which clients use for re-ordering and inventory control, reducing their time spent purchasing. There are more than 30,000 brand name products available and delivery is next day.
Office Authority also audits a client’s supplies, checks its spending and offers price comparisons through its website.
“This is the second launch from our new programs put in place during 2007,” said Darlene Ryan, executive director of TECH Fort Worth. “We are especially excited about Office Authority’s choice of location for its new facility. When the City renovated the former school gym at the Guinn complex to TECH Fort Worth, one of the goals was to attract new and growing companies to this part of the city. ”
A TECH Fort Worth “launch” begins after a client has reached a significant milestone, such as positive cash flow, increased revenues, investments and job creation. After a launch, TECH Fort Worth continues to work with a client by offering CEO networking, coaching and further educational opportunities.
