CARY, N.C. (August 6, 2008) – Barbara Petty, publisher of Boom! Magazine, a monthly publication dedicated to the active lifestyle of those 45 and older, announced today that Boom! Magazine has produced the 6th Annual Performing Arts Calendar. The calendar covers events from August 2008 through June 2009, and is one of the most comprehensive listings in the Triangle. It includes events from the smallest community theater groups to national touring productions. Complimentary copies of the August edition can be found at one of more than 400 locations. In addition, the August magazine showcases a redesign that uses many of the same design principles that the award-winning Time magazine does.
“We are excited about the redesign of the magazine and the release of the arts calendar,” said Petty. “We strive to provide easily-accessible information to today’s active adults.”
This year, the calendar has expanded to eight pages. Boom! readers can remove the calendar and keep it for reference. Boom! Magazine has dedicated itself to the promotion of visual and performing arts since 2003, when Greg and Barbara Petty became the publishers. In addition to the annual arts calendar, each month features a spotlight story on arts groups, galleries, theatre companies, production troupes, dance or choral groups.
