Wheatmark authors Donna Kshir and Dr. Mark Bailey are dramatically making their mark in the world of publishing. On Friday, Kshir and Bailey weighed in on the top 1,000 books sold on the Barnesandnoble.com website, claiming the # 757 spot.
Kshir was a Pennsylvania newspaper columnist and freelance writer before teaming up with mma world champion and three time hall of Fame inductee Dr. Mark Bailey and Wheatmark publishing in a six book deal.
Kshir is best known for her dramatic, real life, heart-felt short stories, as well as her unique writing style, ability to paint negative images, that touch and feel like reality. She is blessed with the gift of words, as she makes you feel her characters presence.
In April, Kshir and Bailey released their first book titled, "My Life's Fight." Kshir told of Bailey's turbulent and violent childhood turned into an adulthood plagued by drinking, crime, and more violence, ultimately leading to prison. The life Bailey lead before he found God, and turned his life around to become a world champion fighter.
In addition to working with Bailey, Kshir is focusing on a solo career. Kshir's newest release titled, "Dear Diary- Oh Mother" is the first of a six book fictional series. The series is based on a elderly woman named Jade and her life experiences.
Jade is an elderly woman with children and grandchildren. Her husband has passed away, but life has been successful and full of love, a life she has chronicled for years in her diary. Now as she feels it is time to retire her diary with a final entry — one she is devoting to the biggest problem in her life, her step-mother.
The final diary entry is a 60-page heart felt short story covering a lifetime of emotional abuse from her step-mother. Jade tricks her mother into approving of Jade’s marriage to a much older man by getting pregnant. Many awful occurrences depict a mother cruel enough to be the wicked step-mother to Cinderella.
"Dear Diary- Oh Mother" is a poignant story with a wonderful voice. It’s a great read, especially for any daughter who has had personal issues with her mother before, which I can assume is pretty much every female in the world.
Both of Kshir's paperback books are available online at barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, target.com, walmart.com and wheatmark.com for $9.00.
For members of the media, you can request a copy of Kshir's books for review by faxing a written request, on your newspapers letterhead, to 520-798-3394, Attn: Kathleen Santo.
Currently Kshir and Bailey are working on their next book, due out later this year.
