“Every day 46 families are thrown a curveball when they learn that their kids have cancer,” said Brian McCann, a Rally Foundation spokesman. “Since childhood cancer is different than adult cancer, different research is needed to find better treatments and cures. My wife and I have teamed up with the Rally Foundation to help raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.”

This year’s event will model last year’s sold out bash, which allowed attendees to mingle with several Mizuno Big League Players and participate in both live and silent auctions, all while enjoying a variety of food and drinks. Guests of last year’s event included Brian McCann, Chipper Jones, Kris Benson and Tom Glavine, as well as former Braves pitching coach Leo Mazzone and former NFL head coach, Sam Wyche. Rally Foundation raised more than $180,000 for childhood cancer research at the event, and this year’s $125 per ticket event is expected to sell out as well.

“We consider the Benefit Bash one of our most successful fundraising events and are excited to have Mizuno Baseball Rally with us to find cures for childhood cancers,” said Dean Crowe, founder and president of Rally Foundation.

Rally Foundation is a non-profit organization that donates all of its proceeds to fund childhood cancer research around the country, including helping to fund the bone marrow transplant clinical research nurse at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In its first two years, Rally has donated more than $500,000 in research grants and has recently been recognized with the Independent Charities Seal of Excellence for meeting the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness and cost effectiveness.
