Jim Cika, solar product manager for VELUX, says that 5-Star Solar Specialists provide evaluations and assistance in choosing the appropriate system to provide the majority of the hot water needs for homes, utilizing free energy from the sun. “The average household spends about 25 percent of its home energy costs on heating water,” Cika says. “This training and certification program enables local companies to provide homeowners installation services for a proven solar water heating system with a ten year track record of dependable performance to help lower their energy bill.” Company personnel complete an intensive VELUX solar system installation and maintenance training course to qualify for certification, Cika says.
