The eighteen-year old, 5�10, blonde haired beauty is an accomplished athlete; she played for the Durham Jr. Lightning - based out of Ajax Ontario, and is part of the PWHL. Miss Starke recently graduated from high school with honors. Further, this September she attends York University on a full hockey and academic scholarship. When asked of her plans for the fall, Starke stated, �I am of course excited about entering university. I�m looking forward to learning more, meeting new people and pumped to be playing forward for the York University Lions.�

The ambitions of this beauty queen do not stop there. With the title of Miss Teen Canada-World and the upcoming international pageant in Texas, she plans on also running a marathon and eventually getting into law school. �I do hope this title gives me the chance to meet my heroes, the Toronto Maple Leafs,� Katie jokes. 2008 will go down in history as the first year Canada sends a crowned Miss Teen Canada-World to the MISS TEEN WORLD pageant. Miss Teen Canada � World pageant Director, Michelle Weswaldi holds fifteen years of experience as an actress, model and former Miss World Canada. She will direct and mentor Katie Starke on her journey.
The MTC-W effort focuses on national pride and promotes the ambition and achievements of young women age 13-18 across the nation. It gives youth the opportunity to showcase their personal achievements and humanitarian efforts. Participants learn the importance of confidence and are given a platform to polish interview skills and a make the most of their unique beauty, inside and out.

MTC-W Organization will embark on the search for 2009s� MTC-W with provincial searches taking place across Canada. MTC-W will begin in the province of Ontario this November 2008, leading up to a national competition with fifty delegates taking place summer 2009.
