(Free-Press-Release.com) August 14, 2008 --
Business coach and advisor Laurie O'Neil has just released a series of free articles on her web site. Her most recent article, Bookkeeping Business Advice: Use Timesheets or QuickBooks to Track Your Time, is available for immediate download at www.bkpr-network.com.
Why go to the expense of purchasing time-tracking software when QuickBooks makes quick work of time management? O'Neil, known for her savvy bookkeeping business advice, once again offers up cost-savings insider tips.
The bookkeeping business coach suggests that bookkeeping service providers use their QuickBooks to track their time. "In my own QuickBooks file, I set up my own company as a customer with sub-accounts. Some of those sub-accounts are Marketing, Paid Time Off, Education, Administration Time, Letters/Contracts and Bookkeeping – for when I work on my own company's bookkeeping."
"If you are an individual bookkeeper, you can enable the timesheets in QuickBooks and use them to keep track of your time and run reports. If you have more than one person in the office, as in my firm, use the QuickBooks Time Tracker, which comes on your QuickBooks Installation CD," she shares.
According to O'Neil, the first step to success in any bookkeeping business is time tracking. She acknowledges that it is one of the hardest tasks on which to keep current, and offers some tools that can make it easier. Many bookkeeping business owners already own the tools and are comfortable working with them. They simply have not used their tools for this application.
In this article, O'Neil gives helpful information about how to set up QuickBooks as a time tracker for individual bookkeepers, and for bookkeeping service firms that employ more than one bookkeeper. Once the foundation is laid with this time tracking device, O'Neil promises to share with her readers how to utilize the data in streamlining invoicing processes.
Download the article now and put QuickBooks to quick use, working double-time as time-tracking software.
