FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 16, 2008 -- Parsippany, New Jersey, August 16th – Today’s mortgage crisis is affecting people from all walks of life. One of the reasons many are in trouble is because they did not have a basic understanding of mortgages, what to look for and how to choose the right program.

As part of their ongoing mission to provide financial literacy materials to the general public, Jump$tart recently added Dave Muti’s book Mortgages: What You Need to Know, Strategies to Take Control of Your Financial Future to their online Clearinghouse of recommended materials. This is Muti’s first book but he has published 35 times in various newspapers and magazines and he has been involved in real estate since 1991 first as an attorney and now as a mortgage planner.

“I am honored to have my book as part of JumpStart’s platform as they have a long history of providing education to kids coming out of high school and that has progressed into helping young adults” says Muti. Muti’s book breaks down the moving parts of the mortgage process to empower the individual to take control of their finances. The main theme, says Muti “is to simply slow down and take the time to understand what you are doing. Once you slow down and take the time it is not that complicated.” Muti’s book offers many how-to-do steps, mortgage questions and forms to use when a person is considering hiring a mortgage professional.

About Dave Muti, JD, RMA: Dave Muti is an expert in mortgages and real estate with more than 17 years experience. He practiced law for 10 years and is a Registered Mortgage Advisor. His book entitled Mortgages: What You Need to Know, Strategies to Take Control of Your Financial Future explains what consumers need to do to protect themselves when it comes to mortgages and how to get ahead financially. The main theme is to educate and empower the individual to take control of their financial future by slowing down to understand the mortgage process and how it affects their short term cash flow while being mindful of their retirement goals.

About JumpStart: First convened in December, 1995, the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy determined that the average student who graduates from high school lacks basic skills in the management of personal financial affairs. Many are unable to balance a checkbook and most simply have no insight into the basic survival principles involved with earning, spending, saving and investing. Jump$tart's aim is to identify high-quality personal finance materials for educational use. The Clearinghouse is a database of personal finance resources available from a variety of education providers such as government, business and non-profit organizations. Once you find a material of interest, you can order it directly from the source. Many of the materials are low cost or free of charge. Teachers often use these personal finance teaching materials to support their state's standards in economics, business, math and family and consumer science.
