Young Lad Into A Fully Trained British Soldier
This is the story of a resident of Acle, joining the Brirish Territorial Army and his time in his new career path
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 25, 2008 --
Resident of Acle village Christopher Bell has been a member of the Territorial Army since January 2008, since his time in the Army he has learn't many skills both recognised in the Army and Civilian life. His reasons to join were to do an operational tour along side his regular colleges, and to experience military life it is correct to say his career throughout the Territorial Army has been very rewarding and beneficial to him as an individual. He claims it's just a job but it's more than that, he is willing to risk his life for his country and that definitely deserves to be recognised.
Christopher has already made the decision to join up full-time as a British soldier in the Royal Anglian Regiment, and we hope to continue and bring you more information regarding this when it comes available.
At the time of print, Christopher has mentioned their are several tours in 2009 with the 1st battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment, his name has already been put forward to go to either Iraq or Afghanistan next year. I got the chance to catch up with him eailer and he had this to say;
"My friends and family think I am mad to want to go and fight in a warzone, to me it's just an ordinary job. You can sit and talk politics but until you have experienced it you will never understand, through the training I have received I know I will put 110% into everything"
He also added; I have made a lot of mistakes through life which I regret, but the Army has giving me that opportunity not just to prove to myself but others around me too that I can do something worthwhile.
You can contact Christopher, to find out more about his career in the British Territorial Army or to wish him luck on future operational tours via e-mail 0321bell@armymail.mod.uk.
Your questions answered:
What's been your best moment so far?
Probably the time I climbed the three peaks which are the highest mountains in England(Scafell, Ben Nevis and Snowdon!) it was in aid of the royal anglian memorial fund.
What's been your hardest time so far?
Definitely the 8 mile CFT, where I was carrying 55lbs of kit which I had to complete within two hours. I found this extremely hard but you'll be pleased to know I passed first time around.
What are your plans for the future?
Next year I am due to go on an operational tour either to Iraq or afghanistan after that I would like to continue my career in the British Army by going full-time.
