To help family caregivers take a break without leaving the house, Caregiving.com debuted a game break section on its site today.

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 1, 2008 --
For family caregivers of aging relatives, the day can become too full of worries, laundry, meals and medications. But, taking a break away from caregiving may mean trying to organize substitute care, which can be another challenge.
To help family caregivers take a break without leaving the house, Caregiving.com debuted a game break section on its site today.
Game Break currently features Solitaire, which stars the site's SuperHeroes. A Leader Board tracks the top scores, which reminds family caregivers that, although they play alone, they don't play by themselves. “Family caregivers feel very alone in their experiences. I hope the Leader Board will stir a little healthy competition while showing them that others play, too.”
In addition,
members can talk “smack” (in a very kind, nice way) about Solitaire on the site's forum. A second game, based on The Caregiving Years concept featured on the website, will launch in mid-October.
“I've wanted to added a game section to Caregiving.com for 10 years,” said Denise M. Brown, owner, Caregiving.com, during her break from playing Solitaire. “I want family caregivers to come to the site for information and support, but also for some fun. I hope our Solitiare game will add a little levity to otherwise heavy days. I also hope that some day my score actually breaks 100.”
To play Solitaire, just visit http://www.caregiving.com. The game is currently available to all website visitors. On September 22, the game will still be free, but only
to registered members of the site.
About Caregiving.com and Denise M. Brown
Caregiving.com was founded in 1996 by Denise M. Brown in the corner of her bedroom in her parents' home. The first generation of the site debuted as a personal page on Prodigy (a now defunct online service) in March 2006. The success of the personal page prodded Denise to secure the domain name, Caregiving.com, on August 3, 1996.
On June 1, 2008, Caregiving.com debuted a resdesign which allows family caregivers to enjoy the benefits of social networking. In addition, visitors can write their own blog, create a profile that reflects their goals and mission statements, and form a club to dicuss their experiences with their family members and friends.
Denise, a Caregiving Coach, hosts a weekly talk show, Your Caregiving Journey, on BlogTalkRadio. The show airs live on Monday evenings at 9 p.m. Central. Archived shows are available on Caregiving.com and on BlogTalkRadio.com/Caregiving.
