(Free-Press-Release.com) September 3, 2008 -- Sandy, UT – This year the Healing Field in Sandy will treat volunteers and visitors to an all new patriotic experience, “A Celebration of Life and Freedom in America” from set up on September 10th to take down on September 15th.

The 1776 flags will cover the 3 acre field in front of Sandy City Hall (10000 South Centennial Parkway at 150 West ) . Milestones of Freedom signage throughout the field of flags will depict historic facts reflecting America's Foundation of Freedom. The US Army Reserve will provide the dedication ceremony and commemorate their 100 year anniversary at the dedication ceremony honoring the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks . The Patriot Day Ceremony will be Sept. 11th at 6:00 PM again this year. Special flags honoring Utah’s fallen heroes in the current conflict will also be part of this year’s event.

This FREE event, sponsored by Colonial Flag and Healing Field Foundation , is a freedom fair for families and children to enjoy and learn about the foundations of our nation’s freedom. Patriotic displays and booths throughout the 5 day event will help everyone celebrate and honor the freedoms we enjoy in America. Visitors can send messages to the troops at the Operation Dear Hero Booth hosted by Blue Star Mothers of Utah .

This year’s Healing Field in Sandy will benefit the Utah Freedom Memorial project . The Utah Freedom Memorial design will be unveiled at the Healing Field where visitors and media will be introduced to an inspiring monument project that honors all Utah military from statehood to the current war on terrorism .

On display will be artistic renderings and a three dimensional scale model of the monument. Fundraising bricks to help fund the project will also be available for personal sponsorships .

Volunteers are needed to help with set up starting at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, the 10th and again for take down on Monday, the 15th starting at 6:00PM. More details and flag sponsorships are available on line at www.healingfield.org/sandy or call 801-256-3639 and ask for Lyndsey or Lori.
