Joe Jackson, the father of Michael Jackson, sister Janet and the famed Jackson Five, opens record label in Chicago with business partner Rick Neville.

Chicago, IL, Thursday, September 4, 2008 - On July 24, 2008 Joseph Jackson, the father of Michael Jackson, sister Janet and the famed Jackson Five, celebrated his 80th birthday in a lavish, star-studded event held at the Joynt Retro Club in Chicago in conjunction with Chi-Coast Entertainment, CEO, Rick Neville who planned and produced the birthday event.
Jackson with business partner, Rick Neville, launched Chi-Coast Entertainment in the heart of Chi-Town earlier this year. Chi-Coast Entertainment is a full line record label that will feature midwest talent and branch out throughout the United States. year. "I'm excited about bringing Chi-Coast Entertainment to Chicago and we'll showcase the best of the best", Jackson stated in a phone interview.
Word around town is Chi-Coast Entertainment will put Chicago on the map as an up and coming music industry comparable with Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta. "There's a musical history in Chicago that few know about and I want Chi-Coast to be a leading force in the industry once again, with real singers and musicians from all genres", says Rick Neville.
Neville referring to what was once known as Record Row located in Chicago, was the center of Gospel, Rock-N-Roll and R&B music long before Motown and housed such legendary labels as Brunswick, O'Keh, One-derful, Mar-V-Lus,
Constellation Records, Mercury, Vee Jay, Chess Records, ABC-Paramount, Westside Records and Curtom. They featured such artists as the Beatles, Jerry Butler, Gene Chandler, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and the Chi-Lites all who were instrumental in putting Chicago on the map at the time as a music industry world leader.
Chi-Coast Entertainment honored the legends of this era in music, media and public service for their historical contributions and presented elegant awards as a gesture of appreciation during Jackson's birthday bash. Receiving awards were the Chi-Lites (Legends of Music Award), Carl Davis (Pioneer Award for Music), Herb Kent (Pioneer Award for Media) and the birthday boy himself, Joe Jackson (Life Time Achievement Award). Other awardees included Mayor Rudy Clay of Gary, Indiana (Public Service Award).
Current artist under development with Chi-Coast Entertainment are Tatianna, Erika Kristine and Sincere.
