Community Involvement is the Guiding Philosophy at Federico

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 5, 2008 -- The students at Federico are deeply immersed in the school's dual mission: a high quality beauty education and a strong commitment to community events.

"As an educational establishment," says Jeremy Federico, Director of Operations, "we believe it's important that our students receive a heightened sense of community and gain a better understanding of their place within society by participating in a variety of outreach activities where they can earn hours towards their graduation and showcase their talent."

This summer Federico students participated and hosted many events! Enjoy some shots from our recent work!


MUSTARD SEED PROGRAM
Established in February 1989, Mustard Seed is a free private school which serves homeless children ages 3-15 years old. Since 1991, Federico Beauty Institute has hosted the children at the school for free haircuts and manicure.


VIETNAM STAND DOWN

Boy Scout Camp Pollock serves a significant number of homeless veterans and helps them locate the services they need to find their way back to a productive lifestyle. Veteran organization auxiliaries prepare kits with shampoo, washcloth, toothbrush and toothpaste, razors, combs and other hygiene items the participants can use during their time at the Stand Down. Federico Beauty Institute has participated in this program for over 14 years and provides over 250 haircuts to homeless veterans in Sacramento every year.


BRIDAL SHOWCASE
Federico participated in the Bridal Showcase held on August 10th at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento. At their Booth, Federico offered free makeup application and bridal up-do's. Showcase attendees entered a raffle to win Federico's 6-week bride-to-be treatment series called Bridal Boot Camp.


DECADES HAIR & FASHION SHOW

On Thursday, July 31st, Federico hosted a Hair & Fashion Show at the school's Sports Drive campus in Sacramento. Over 200 people attended the student production which showcased hair and fashion through the century!


100.5 A DAY IN THE ZONE 2008
On Sunday, August 17th, Federico's booth was a colorful and fun spot with Federico's students showing off their creative skills withy face painting and color/glitter hair spray to booth visitors. A Day in the Zone was held at Gibson Ranch and put on by The Zone 100.5 featuring Daughtry, Lifehouse, Tristan Prettyman, Ace Young and Special Guest host, Nick Lachey.

HALLOWEEN
October 25th & October 31st

Get ready for HALLOWEEN with Federico Beauty Institute offering the most gruesome or gorgeous Halloween make-up application services. Look your best or worst at costume parties and while trick-or-treating. To fashion the most creative, creepy or enchanting costume, Federico students apply dramatic prosthetic appendages as well as warts, scars, scratches and blood.
