Get Sexy Boot Camps Milwaukee Provides Back to School Workout Tips for Busy Moms
BJ Gaddour, CSCS, founder of Get Sexy Boot Camps explains how busy mothers can get into shape with focused, fat-blasting, 20 minute workouts.

Milwaukee, WI-September 05, 2008- Summertime is an exciting yet busy time for mothers. While they are excited to be able to spend time with their children, they also do not get the alone time they usually have while their children are at school. Often times, the lack of personal time to exercise combined with the special summer treats catches up with them in the form of a few extra unwanted pounds. Once the summer is over, mothers find themselves wondering how they are going to recover from the ice cream sundaes and barbeques of the summer. However, just because the children are in school does not mean that busy moms have tons of spare hours available for exercise.
BJ Gaddour, CSCS, founder of Milwaukee-based Get Sexy Boot Camps, claims 20 minutes is all a busy mom needs to get results. Gaddour subscribes this 20-minute workout three times a week:
- Choose three exercises: an upper body exercise, a lower body exercise and a cardiovascular or core exercise. An example of this would be alternating lunges, push-ups off the knees and jumping jacks.
- Set your clock or timer for 10 minutes. Perform each exercise 10 times in order. To use the example above, this would mean performing 10 lunges on each leg, 10 push-ups and 10 jumping jacks.
- Do as many rounds of this as possible in 10 minutes.
- After that, rest for a couple of minutes if needed and choose three different exercises to replace the ones just performed. An example of this would be to replace those three exercises with hip extensions, bent over dumbbell rows and crunches on an exercise ball.
In addition to the resistance training, Gaddour prescribes two cardiovascular workouts a week on the non-resistance training days. This is another area of fitness where he claims many people waste too much time: “I see people jogging outside for 45 minutes at a time, going at the same, slow, boring pace.” Gaddour claims that these workouts are not effective for fat loss as one’s body learns to adapt to the unchanging stimulus of jogging and actually trains the body to store fat. Instead he suggests what he calls “Rapid Fat Loss Cardio,” also know as “Cardio Interval Training” in many circles.
With this type of cardiovascular training, the person performs a high intensity cardiovascular exercise for a designated amount of time and then rests for a designated amount of time. They then cycle the routine for up to 20 minutes. An example Gaddour provides that is ideal for a beginner is to sprint for 30 seconds and walk for 90 seconds. Gaddour suggests beginners use a stationary bike to prevent injury and to improve baseline conditioning. Gaddour claims a consistent routine will get moms into pre-summer shape in no time.
