Statement Regarding President Clinton's Reference To Just Say No Deal Coalition Member Lynette Long

September 23, 2008

The Just Say No Deal Coalition reacts to President Bill Clinton's interview on ABC’s The View, when questioned by Joy Behar regarding the trend of Hillary Clinton supporters shifting to John McCain:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) September 23, 2008 -- (ONLINE AND NATIONWIDE)—
President Bill Clinton cited one of our own Just Say
No Deal Coalition members Dr. Lynette Long—
while discussing his view on voting practices with
The View panel—inferring that there is nothing
wrong or misguided with those Democrats who
plan to vote for John McCain in November:

“You can’t tell someone else that the grounds on
which they make their voting decision is
irrational… We can’t tell anybody that they don’t

know what they’re doing because they voted for 'X'
candidate instead of 'Y,'"states President Clinton.
We agree Mr. President;Country Before Party.

Just Say No Deal is receiving an onslaught of
messages from members, old and new,
emphatically stating their refusal to support the
Democratic nominee. Many view Bill Clinton's
statement as permission to vote for John McCain.
"Senator Obama does not have the experience,
knowledge and passion to lead this country,"
declares Normita Fenn, a staunch Hillary

supporter from California, now voting for John
McCain.

As we see it, there are only two candidates left
standing and we won't be voting for Senator Barack
Obama. That said, not all coalition members will
be voting the McCain/Palin ticket. "I am not voting
for a President in November," says Prameela
Bartholomeusz, who is open to assisting the
McCain campaign. "Sen. Clinton is still the best
choice for President, in my mind. I believe Sen.
McCain recognizes Sen. Clinton's strengths and
will reach out to her for the sake of our great

nation, if he is elected. He will reach across the
aisle and address the serious issues facing our
country, more effectively (than Sen. Obama)." The
DNC Platform Committee member is appalled that
her party would risk forfeiting 16 years of a
Democrat in the White House, by selecting an
inexperienced candidate.
