FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) September 23, 2008 --

For the first time ever in Hawaii, standup meets sketch meets improv on one stage with all local acts for one night only in the original show “In Yo Face Comedy” at Pipeline Café on October 8, 2008 at 8:00 PM. The show starts with standup comedy by Hawaii’s own 2008 BayFest winner David Lee. It continues on with Hawaii Funny Business’s prime players who will be doing sketch comedy similar to that seen on Saturday Night Live or Monty Python’s Flying Circus where our own local Hawaii news will be parodied live on stage as well as Gov. Sarah Palin and the local military. Everything from kids playing the hit game “Rock Band” to those in need of “self help” will be fair game during this one night only original event. Topping off the night is Hawaii’s best comedic improv troupe “IYFI”, short for “In Yo Face Improv” who will be doing a complete set of short form comedic improv games similar to that seen on the hit TV show “Whose Line is it Anyways”.

This original show is ground breaking for Honolulu’s comedy scene as well as Hawaii’s entire performing arts community because a show of this nature has never been attempted or offered before in Hawaii. It incorporates virtually all forms of comedy including stand up, comedic sketch pieces performed by comedic actors and written by gag writers as well as improv. Regardless if you love the theater, standup comedy, the written word, a good parody or improv – this show has something for everyone!

The only bad thing is that this break-through performance is a onetime deal! The original, one night only event will start at 8:00 PM and the tickets are just $10 in advance or $15 at the door or $12 for military which is nearly half the cost of all other shows of this magnitude making it not only amazing on stage but also in price.
Hawaii Funny Business is comprised of a network of various comedic artist including OC16’s Kori Harvey, Second City’ Sean Koegel, Second City L.A. Immersion’s and comedic writer Dawn Nash, Bayfest Winner David Lee, 48 Hour Film Festival comedic writer Elyse Morretti and more. For more information about Hawaii Funny Business or standup comedian David Lee visit HawaiiFunnyBusiness.com or call Dawn Nash at (808) 256-7661.

In Yo Face Improv, otherwise known as “IYFI” is comprised of seasoned local actors and comedians Scott Hanada, Larissa Nielsen, Kehau Rezentes, Chris Riel and Shawn Thomsen. One of IYFI's goals is to spread the "Gospel of Improv" meaning getting the word out that another form of entertainment is out there and its improv and it exists here in Hawaii. For more information on IYFI email us at IYFIFun@yahoo.com or call Chris Riel at (808) 230-0842.

For ticket information please call 808.230.0842 or email us at iyfifun@yahoo.com.
