Inspiration for running. Where do you get vo2 testing in Los Angeles?

If you have to ask about vo2 testing, then I am going to assume that you are a training athlete and already have some knowledge in this area.

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 29, 2008 -- I run at least 3 miles six days a week, but whatever your running habits, it is certainly a good idea to measure your physical fitness. You might feel one way, but your results could possibly reflect otherwise.

Many people are nowhere near this level, but they wish to be. There are many people out there who wish to be a running champ, but to begin with are not even able to run one mile straight without losing their breath. Is the situation hopeless? Should they just give up? The answer is simple really. My answer would be: of course not!

The old saying, "No pain, no gain." pretty much somes it up that the road is not going to be easy. But listen to the other proverb that tells us: "The greater challenge, the greater the reward." If you happen to be overweight, or just out of shape, if you haven't been running all your life and you can't even recall the last time you ran and actually broke a sweat, you have some hard work ahead of you. That doesn't mean that the work is impossible though. It is attainable and you can achieve it.

You are going to have to push yourself and you will feel like giving up at times, but if you hang in there for the long haul, when you accomplish your goal, the feeling you shall experience will be like no other you have ever encountered. This is not to overwhelm you though. It really all depends on how you look at it. If you have to climb a mountain for example, no matter how big, if you look at the entire mountain, the whole thing from top to bottom in its enormity, you are bound to become overwhelmed. It's common sense. However, if you break it down into more manageable chunks, you will notice that all of a suddeen, that very same mountain that at first intimidated you, will suddenly not seem so scary anymore.

Just like with the mountain analogy, the very same philosophy applies to running. You are going to have to do some serious training certain muscles, little by little, pushing yourself further and further every time, you will have gone farther than you could have ever imagined. And here's the good news: It does get easier! It really does.

And can you guess the very muscle you are going to have to train the hardest of all? Which muscle is the strongest in your entire being? Your hamstrings? Your quads? Your heart? None of the above. The correct answer is: the brain.

The brain is the strongest muscle of the human body. Or any body for that matter. Whenever you believe you cannot do something, you will come to find that the greatest obstacle you will have to overcome is in fact your own mind. If you tell yourself you will never be able to run four miles non-stop, then you are doing yourself the biggest dammage ever. You become your biggest hurdle. If however, you are realistic with your goals and repeat to yourself that yes you can achieve, naturally your mind will eventually listen.

The best way is to just get started people!
