Methods of Combining Announcements with Music

Sound Mill 2.2 has new capabilities to make in-store announcements easier than ever. You simply load a Sound Mill playlist* of music selections and a playlist of announcements and indicate which method to use for playback. For example, you can insert announcements automatically after every music selection. Or play announcements at timed intervals (ex. every 3 minutes), suspending any music track while the announcement plays. Each playlist can be set up in less than a minute and saved for future use.

Schedule Announcements

A flexible scheduler allows you to automate which announcements play by dates, days of the week or during selected daily time slots. For example, schedule store closing announcements to play every ten minutes during the last half hour of business.

Large Business Support

Of course, large stores or public venues can use Sound Mill to pipe different programming to various zones in a building (ex. a lobby, auditorium, etc.). Sound Mill supports computers with multiple soundcards or multi-output devices.

Announcement Examples

Announce sales promotions, public service messages, upcoming event dates, news items, your business Web site address and business hours or 'store closing soon' warnings. Or simply sound a bell or chime at specific times to mark time periods (ex. employee break periods, classroom period begin and end). Record your own messages as an MP3 file with your computer and microphone or use pre-recorded, professionally produced announcements.

* A playlist is called a 'SoundList' in Sound Mill terminology.
