US Mortgage Hires New Branch Development Manager

Lehnes’ primary responsibilities at US Mortgage are to recruit and provide support for the company’s Branch Managers to bolster its BranchLink platform – an alternative compensation program designed to attract and retain individuals who have an entrepreneurial spirit.

BranchLink caters to those who are seeking to expand their mortgage origination business as mortgage bankers with the ability to originate quality loans across a wide product menu including Conventional and FHA products.

Lehnes has more than 30 years in the Residential Mortgage Lending Industry, specifically in business development, sales, and sales management. In addition, he has a strong working knowledge of the loan origination processes and of the industry’s regulatory environment. “One of the things that helps me in supporting and helping branch managers grow their business is that I have walked a mile in their shoes,” he says.

Lehnes’ goal is to recruit qualified Branch Managers who have an entrepreneurial spirit and are interested in growing their business. “The key to long-term growth is to focus on providing a high level of service to the customer,” he adds. The Branch Manager’s customer is the consumer looking for the right mortgage to suit their needs. My customer is the Branch Manger and his or her staff. Working together our collective goal is to have the consumer walk away from the closing table with a level of satisfaction that encourages them to recommend the Loan Officer, Branch, and US Mortgage to their friends, family, coworkers, and acquaintances.”

Lehnes’ industry experience dates back to the mid-70s when he started as a loan originator, working for one of the largest privately held mortgage companies in New Jersey at the time. The company specialized in FHA and VA financing. Since then he has successfully run a large branch office for Chase Home Mortgage, partnered to start a private mortgage company, and worked as Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager of a federally chartered savings bank-owned mortgage company. Here Lehnes developed the company’s net branch office network, increasing monthly closed loan volume from $15 million to $200 million in the span of five years.

Lehnes holds a BS in Business Administration from Monmouth University and a MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickenson University. His professional affiliations include New Jersey Association of Mortgage Brokers (NJAMB), Mortgage Bankers Association of New Jersey, and the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB).
