(Free-Press-Release.com) October 15, 2008 --
The Castro Theatre and La Legion Fantastique present an evening dedicated to the Earth's "favorite invasion" - "War of the Worlds: 70th Anniversary Broadcast"! The show begins with a live, theatrical recreation of the infamous 1938 radio broadcast that panicked a nation, followed by a screening of the classic 1953 motion picture "The War of the Worlds" (Dir. George Pal). Transport yourself back in time to the Columbia Broadcasting Building (aka San Francisco's historic Castro Theatre) in 1938, and see just how a handful of actors sent thousands of American citizens running for the hills! It's a "once in a lifetime" chance to celebrate H.G. Wells' classic science fiction novel (celebrating its 110th anniversary, by the way), and Orson Welles' legendary radio play!
Ticket price ($15) includes both live show and movie screening (available at the door or at www.ticketweb.com)! Advance ticket purchases are highly recommended!
