Which US Presidential Candidate Should You Vote For?
Which US Presidential Candidate Should You Vote For?
John McCain and Barack Obama can go down in history. Whoever wins this Presidential race may be hailed as the savior of the free world, or as the final straw that broke the American Dreams back.

I'm really concerned that Americans, in general, cast their Presidential votes without really thinking. In order to combat this habit, I've published a short book for every American to read prior to voting. It is non partisan and doesn't recommend one candidate over another. What it does do is ask each and every voter to consider some key elements before voting.

http://www.lulu.com/in2thestratosphere Elections are often so much fun to observe. Each candidate will be trying to outwit the other, to dismiss them in some way and even trying to discredit their opponents. At the same time of course they are desperately trying to maintain their own credibility. But it isn’t about fun. This year’s Presidential Election is way beyond fun; it is the single most important event of living memory. You, the American voter, has to get it right. So who should you vote for?

Before anybody votes in 2008, they must really try to understand who and what they are voting for, why they are voting for that particular candidate and how they believe that candidate can deliver against the promises they are making. Competence is not enough, integrity is not enough. The next President of the United States of America has to have both of these in abundance, but they also have to be compelling and believable. This may be the last chance to really keep the United States truly United. John McCain and Barack Obama can go down in history. Whoever wins this Presidential race could in the future be hailed as the savior of the free world as we know it, or as the final straw that broke the back of the American dream. It is that important.
The previous two presidents, one Republican and the other Democrat, had many strengths and many weaknesses; but for different reasons, they have both left a sour taste in the mouth, usually with partisan voters in the other party. The world is watching the United States like never before and so, as a voter, you must get it right. Never before has your conscience been so much more important than your personal needs.
Many voters look at ‘what’s in it for me’ (WIIFM) but this is often in conflict with what is right for the United States, and for the world as a whole. It is now the time for voters to really assess the bigger picture and forget the minor differences one candidate might bring to them on a personal basis. After all, these WIIFM tendencies are usually based on financial benefit, and neither candidate is likely to make much financial difference once the swings and roundabouts have been considered.
A key issue that all voters should consider is whether they are morally correct, or politically correct. What drives you as a person? Many, including me, now believe that political correctness has become a burden. People have become afraid to do the right thing because of the fear of repercussion from a politically correct fanatic. Moral correctness on the other hand, is relatively new as a movement. No it isn’t about Victorian values or prudish shackles, it is about doing the right thing, even if nobody is looking. Political correctness can and does hide behind different, often selfish agendas, where moral correctness cannot hide because it is about integrity.
I have no party allegiance to either Republican or Democrat and this guide makes no judgment on either party. Nor will it make judgment on the candidates, or their running mates, or tell you who to vote for, that is up to you to decide. But I urge all voters to assess moral correctness versus political correctness before making their vote and this includes you. I’m talking about true moral correctness, not the rhetoric of an ambitious politician.
