ADVERTISING INDUSTRY TO GROW MORE-SANDEEP MARWAH

The Indian advertisement expenditure is doubling every five years, boosted by robust growth in television and print campaigns, says Sandeep Marwah,Director AAFT while addressing to the National Press in Delhi.
Growing at 16–18 per cent, the Indian advertising industry is estimated at US$ 4.16 billion with expenditure on advertising rising from 0.5 per cent of GDP to 0.53 per cent in the next three years, as per ZenithOptiMedia's report, informed Marwah. The industry is further estimated to grow 61 per cent by 2010, with advertising spending growing from US$ 5.74 billion in 2007 to US$ 9.28 billion by 2010. Simultaneously, the share of advertising expenditure is likely to increase from 0.5 per cent of GDP in 2007 to 0.53 per cent of GDP in 2010.
The advertisement industry recorded robust growth in the current financial year. The ad volume of radio channel promotions in print was double the ad volume recorded in the first quarter of last year whereas TV channel promotion grew by 43 per cent during the same period. Moreover print advertising volumes grew by 5 per cent during the first quarter of 2008 as against the same period in 2007, according to a recent survey.
"The planned education is now available at AAFT Asian Academy Of Film And Television and ASMS Asian School Of Media Studies where all the 28 courses have been given the input of advertising so that this growing industry must have trained proffessional",Sandeep Marwah added
