International Photography Awards Announces Winners of the 2008 Competition
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Los Angeles, California., 10/19/2008--International Photography Awards (IPA)has announced the winners of this year's presigious Photographer of the Year awards.

This year, over 22,000 entries from 124 countries were submitted for the competition, sponsored by Pilsner Urquell. Among those honored, Marguerita Melville of Pompano Beach, Fl.,received Honorable Mention in Nature for her entry "Triple Trouble", a portrait of a cheetah with her cubs in the Samburu National Reserve, Kenya.
Marguerita's work has been published in magazines, newspapers and online and her travels as a journalist and freelance photographer have provided her insight into many of the world's cultures. Her work is featured in her online galleries at artincamera.com.
The winners of this year's contest will be honored at the Lucie Awards, held at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, New York on Monday, October 20, 2008.
IPA's mission is to salute the achievements of the world's finest photographers, to discover new and emerging talent, and to promote the appreciation of photography. Since 2003, IPA has had the privilege and opportunity to acknowledge and recognize comtemporary photographers' accomplishments in this specialized art form.
