Anonymous Rocks The Vote
Anonymous Rocks The Vote
Anonymous helps the residents of L. Ron Hubbard Way in Los Angeles to register to vote in this critical election.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 20, 2008 --
This afternoon a few Anons gathered at LRH Way "to help people" and distribute mail-in voter registration forms to the busy workers in and around Big Blue. They were instructed to simply fill in the form, and mail the pre-paid postage application in to the County Registrar. Several were aware of the upcoming US election. We emphasized our neutrality in the presidential race, and pointed out to those who planned to decline voting for president, that several key propositions are on the ballot as well, including CA Prop 8 which is a referendum on *gay marriage.* Again, in neutral terms.
Anons distributed about 50 forms to be completed and mailed in by newly registered voters. California's deadline to register for the November 4th election is tomorrow, Oct 20.
The performance of public service in getting out the vote in this upcoming and historic election was met with mystery by a security guy on a bicycle, but many of the workers were pleased to receive the forms, and thanked us for our efforts.
One passer-by who appeared after about an hour of talking to potential voters was none other than Kendrick Moxon who offered up the opinion that we "look better in our masks." He declined the voter registration self-mailer and appeared to be tired and just a teensy bit grumpy.
Los Angeles Anons are looking forward to future opportunities to perform selfless acts of community service to benefit the residents of LRH Way (formerly Berendo Street).
Perhaps future efforts could include the distribution of public information related to nutrition and basic health issues; in LA County there is a heightened alert for tuberculosis which may enter the country undetected from newer residents. Further, it appeared that there may be a number of individuals suffering from early-onset osteoporosis, and perhaps muscle problems due to inadequate supply of calcium and protein.
Several individuals who appeared to be part of the elite Sea Org were flummoxed at our volunteer project. We enjoyed our pleasant afternoon on LRH Way, the wonderful early fall weather, and the sincere appreciation of most residents we were able to visit with.
The project was a resounding success and we look forward to assisting residents in the future to have access to the full freedoms of America.
We hope that this message of civic responsibility spread throughout the ranks, and that scientologists are encouraged to exercise their precious right to vote. Of course, many of our contacts were with non-citizens, but we feel that they too can come to appreciate the culture of the USA as we prepare to select our next President.
Public service in a public place.
Rock the Vote!
