Schamborzki’s mother was a regular player at Edgewater Casino, and once she became too ill to take the bus with the rest of the seniors from the North Shore, Schamborzki began to take her to the casino. Together they played the Nickel Slots, and soon she began to enjoy the fun and relaxation of gaming. Once her mother passed away, Schamborzki continued to play at Edgewater, and quickly became intrigued by the casino’s offering of the chance for her to Drive Your Dream car.

“I’m overwhelmed by the win – because I know my mother would have been so excited that a game we both shared brought this prize,” said Schamborzki, who hadn’t won much in the past. “I had a feeling about Drive Your Dream, so I saved up my ballots and submitted them strategically on the afternoon of the draw. When I won, I knew my mother’s spirit must have been watching over me.” Hopefully her mother will be watching over her on the road too – Schamborzki hasn’t driven a stick shift in 15 years!
