The National Building Museum kicked off its groundbreaking green community exhibition and lecture series today with a presentation by Dave Feldman, CEO of the Livability Project (http://www.livabilityproject.com).
Addressing an audience of green architects, green builders, civil servants, community activists, and concerned citizens, Mr. Feldman discussed the meaning of green, sustainable communities. He talked about how to build and manage community support for sustainability initiatives and how to measure their effectiveness.
The Green Community speaker series is a complement to the National Building Museum’s Green Community exhibition, which is the first major exhibition in the United States to explore the complex process of creating and sustaining healthy communities. The exhibition will be on display from October 23, 2008 through October 25, 2009. (http://www.nbm.org)
Livability Project is best known for its work with Bethesda Green (http://www.bethesdagreen.org), which is a new model of community sustainability in the shadows of our nation’s capital. Mr. Feldman serves as the public-private partnership’s Implementation Director.
