Dine with Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin as the Nation Celebrates Steve Irwin Day

The annual Steve Irwin Day fundraising activities will include a massive online celebrity auction this year, which means anyone can participate with a simple click of a mouse.

People with a passion for wildlife are asked to once again show their support and raise funds through a number of fun ways including wearing their signature Steve Irwin inspired khakis or hosting a Backyard Campout – and inviting their loved ones to sponsor and support them.

And this year, for the first time, fans will have the chance to bid in a massive celebrity auction!

Showing her ongoing passion for her husband’s legacy, the auction, which will be hosted on eBay, will include dinner for four with the Irwin family Terri, Bindi and Robert, at Adobe Resort, Yachats, in Orgeon.

Terri Irwin said she was so impressed by the support of Americans, she really wanted to do something spectacular to say thank you.

“Last year in America I heard of so many people getting involved in their local community to raise money and awareness of Steve Irwin Day, it was truly heartwarming to see the passion this country has for Steve and the planet.”

The auction will be opened on eBay Giving Works at www.ebaygivingworks.com from the 22 October to 1 November 2008.

Included in the auction item is:
• one night’s accommodation for a family of four at the Hilton in Eugene;
• two night’s accommodation for four at Adobe Resort, Yachats;
• dinner for four with Terri, Bind and Robert Irwin at the Adobe Resort restaurant, Yachats;
• admission for four to Oregon Coast Aquarium and behind the scenes aquarium adventure;
• return flights from any port in America to Eugene; and

• Avis car hire for four days!*

More About Steve Irwin Day

This year, Terri Irwin has made an international plea to stop whaling by joining forces with the Oregon State university (OSU) Marine Mammal Institute, to gather non-lethal biological research from Humpback Whales. Wildlife Warriors need a total of $1.5 million for whale research for the next three years. All money raised during Steve Irwin Day will go towards the Humpback Whale conservation projects.
