A Smorgasbord of Goddess Delights

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 27, 2008 -- Local Fremantle women Ishara de Garis and Miriam Brooker will be hosting the next in a series of 'Goddess Soirees' at Yoga Now Studio in Hines Rd, O'Connor on the 15th November. "The idea of the soirees is to bring people together in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere," says Miriam Brooker, "so that they can explore and learn about the many faces of the Divine Feminine in a playful way."

"Reintegrating feminine ways of being and relating into mainstream western culture is one of the primary challenges of our time." says Ishara, who calls herself a contemporary priestess of the Great Goddess. "Miriam and I see our work as part of a global movement towards reclaiming a personal relationship with the Feminine Divine. Like many women and men around the world at this time, we believe that a feminine spirituality can offer alternate perspectives to current global dilemmas and help to restore balance to our troubled world."

Each Goddess Soiree is dedicated to a different theme. "In November we will be reviewing the story of Lilith, the original rebellious woman and Adam's first wife. It gives us an opportunity to acknowledge a wilder, darker side of the Feminine, and explore how we can honour and express this energy in positive ways in our daily lives," says Ishara.

The evening will offer a mix of story, poetry, music, sacred dance and informal conversation. Participants will have the opportunity to explore their personal response to the figure of Lilith through a meditative art process. The entry cost of $25 includes creative materials and a light supper. "Past participants have told us that our home-brewed chai-tea is one of the bonuses of the evening," comments Miriam.
