FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 30, 2008 -- With this widespread downturn in the economy, people are turning to selling their unwanted jewelry, coins and silverware just to pay bills. Look in the newspaper, online, on television, and there are dozens of ads for buyers of gold, silver, class rings, “ex” wedding bands, etc. No one disputes selling anything you don’t need to get out of debt, but like anything you have to be sure you are getting the most for your money.

Jerry Ramos, CEO of WildForGold.com, says most of the larger companies are reputable. However, even with the top five or six gold buyers, the discrepancy of pricing your unwanted jewelry is drastic. His suggestion is make sure you are comfortable with what you are selling. Once the cash changes hands its hard to get your money back and most likely the gold or silver is being sold immediately for scrap to be melted. If your jewelry has any sort of stone, such as a diamond, you will not receive the true value of the entire piece. Most often you will only get paid for the value of the gold. It is important to get a price quote in advance before selling it. Wildforgold.com makes sure every seller gets a price quote in advance, prior to sending a check, money order, or Western Union. If you don’t like the price, it is simply returned postage paid. “Some companies take your jewelry and send you a check and if you don’t like the amount, you have a few days to contest the price.” Ramos says. Not the best position to be in.

“I have heard of people selling a full set of sterling silver flatware for $50.00 when the actual value could be as high as $1,000.00. Someone else sold a 10K high school ring for $12.00, when it was worth $30.00. That worries me.” says Ramos. When someone is hurting for money, there area lot of people out there ready to take advantage. With just a bit of homework you, the seller, could earn a bit more for that same high school ring. Always remember that if your unwanted items are not marked 24K, 18K, 14K, 10K, Sterling, or Platinum, it probably isn’t worth sending it to a gold buyer or even a pawn shop.

Selling your unwanted or damaged jewelry can be good, especially if you need the money during these troubling times. Make sure you have options and if you have questions about your items feel free to send them to: customerservice@wildforgold.com. Jerry Ramos and his staff will do their best to answer them.
