Eco-friendly company doing its part to raise awareness to the homeless with a one million dollar fundraiser.

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 31, 2008 -- A North Carolina based company is preparing to introduce a new line of eco-friendly footwear. Devmir, Inc. (www.devmir.com) will unveil its brand new organic socks, which will be the name of the Sierra Club, during a fundraiser in November.

According to Diogenes Ruiz, President of Devmir, Inc., the socks are made from a combination of organic cotton, soy, bamboo, along with other eco-friendly and healthful yarn. He says “We didn’t want to simply make socks. We wanted to make socks with a purpose and that’s why we decided to team up with the Sierra Club.”

The organic line includes performance socks as well as dress/casual socks for men and women. The styles include peds, shorties, anklet and crew. The retail price per pair will range from $5 to $18.

During the online fundraiser, Ruiz says his Company will donate ten percent of the proceeds for each pair of socks sold to the environmental organization. The goal, he says, is to raise one million dollars. In addition, Devmir, Inc. will donate a pair of socks to the National Coalition for the Homeless and give away a home and a car to a homeless family.
