DIGITAL UNDERGROUND MC YOUNG MASS ANNOUNCE’S MONTHLY HIP-HOP SHOWCASE IN SAN DIEGO

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 6, 2008 -- San Diego, CA (November 6, 2008) San Diego Hip-Hop artists Young Mass (Massterpiece Entertainment), and Kayo (On Fyre Entertainment) are proud to announce a monthly Hip-Hop Concert/Showcase in San Diego. The Series, named “LIVE - MassFyre Presents”, will be held monthly and feature the top urban artists from San Diego. 7-9 artists will be selected for each Concert/Showcase event, with each being allotted 20 minutes to perform. DJ Mackdread will host, and spin the latest Hip-Hop/R&B between sets.

The Mass/On Fyre Series kicks off on November 20th in San Diego at Brick By Brick, and will continue one Thursday a month before moving to a weekend slot early in 2009.

“Young Mass, and Kayo have been on the rise as the hardest working Hip-Hop music activist in San Diego," says the duo’s manager“40oz”Chris, who will be co-booking the series with the artists. “The concept was conceived while attending this years San Diego Music Awards, of which Young Mass’ self-titled debut was nominated for Hip-Hop album of the year. Mass approached me from a smoked out truck in the Viejas parking lot with the idea. Apparently his entourage was smoking a high-grade tobacco called “Humboldt County Golem”, and chugging “Jager Bombs” in celebration… I was all ears! After Mass broke down the idea, we all agreed that it is a shame so many great hip-hop artists in San Diego get little to no chance to shine live. Kayo and I put together the plan, scheduled a meeting, and were ecstatic to score a residency at one of the very best live venues in SD; Brick By Brick!

Mass/On Fyre’s focus will be on booking the freshest, and most active of underground, independent, and developing artists, from all parts of the city, providing the audience with an amazing show from the best acts in San Diego County. The music business has changed dramatically the past few years, but a quality, exciting, live performance continues to be a major factor to the development of artists, their fanbases, and their careers. We created the Mass/On Fyre Series as a way to provide these deserving artists a chance to showcase their talents at several different stages of development."
