Using traditional drug testing methods, THC can be detected in a donor's system for potentially weeks after marijuana has been used. In no way would a urine drug test be able to tell if a donor was impaired at the time of testing. It may be, that the donor partook in marijuana use days, or even weeks before their drug test. Traces of THC are more than likely to turn up a positive result on a drug test, despite the fact that they are not currently impaired by drugs.

In the case of oral fluid drug testing, traces of drugs will only appear on a drug test, if the drug has been used within 24 hours of taking the test. In other words, while the donor is still impaired.
