BOSTON, MA – November 10, 2008 – The Bridgespan Group (www.bridgespan.org), a nonprofit organization helping nonprofits and philanthropy to achieve breakthrough strategy, leadership and results, launched a new website featuring six interactive “learning centers.” The move furthers Bridgespan’s mission to share knowledge from client engagements and research with the broader sector in order to help all social sector organizations and their funders deepen and accelerate their ability to succeed in their missions, and, in many instances, do more with less. These six learning centers will provide self-service management resources to nonprofit organizations, with additional field-specific learning tools in education, youth services and the environment. In addition, Bridgespan will offer a library of case studies, multimedia resources, links to third-party resources and a link to Bridgestar (www.bridgestar.org), the Bridgespan Group initiative that helps increase the flow of leadership talent into and within the nonprofit sector.

“The launch of our online learning centers underscores Bridgespan’s longstanding commitment to create impact in the social sector by sharing insights and tools,” said Bridgespan Managing Partner and Co-founder Jeff Bradach. “A central tenet of our mission is to help nonprofit organizations and philanthropy learn from best practices in order to maximize their impact.” According to Bradach, the site is a collaborative effort across the Bridgespan Group and is supported by the generosity of funders which include the The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Atlantic Philanthropies, and The Edna McConnell Clark Foundation.

[Editor’s Note: Bridgespan is offering website screenings to journalists this week. Please see contact details below. Or, take a video tour of the site at: http://www.youtube.com/thebridgespangroup]

The learning centers represent the best of Bridgespan’s collective expertise, research and nonprofit management best practices, and cover the following six disciplines in creating strategy, attracting and deploying talent, and creating the right funding partnerships: Developing strategy, Managing performance, Funding the mission, Recruiting leaders, Advancing Philanthropy, and Building the organization.

Said Knowledge Partner Katie Smith Milway, “We see the learning centers as the next logical step in Bridgespan’s knowledge-sharing mission. They create easy access to put truly useful content in the hands of as many people as we can whose passion for doing good helps our society do well.
