Washington DC Hotels Sold Out for Inauguration

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 11, 2008 -- If you are heading to the nations capital on January 20 you better get your pocketbook, wallet or whatever you carry ready. The hotel rooms have skyrocketed in price, and availability is slim.

Isn't it price gouging for charging more for an event? The answer to that is maybe. See the trick is if you have ever noticed there is a piece of paper on the back of a hotel door. Ever look at the rates on there? They can be astronomical. Why? In times like this where there is a big event the hotel can send the price as high as that piece of paper says.

Now of course that is not normally what you would pay for the hotel, but with an event going on such as this historical event you can count on paying high rates. Many sites that offer cheap hotels, discount hotels, or last minute bookings have attempted to increase their inventory with little luck.

Basically if you don't have a room now, you better meet someone you can stay with. Otherwise you can stay near Baltimore, MD airport for about $60-150 per night. The only hotel I can even find availability at is the The Fairmont Washington D.C. and it is $1325 per night right now.

I have to say though, to be a part of this history will be amazing. You know we always look at history as the past. How incredible will it be to live a moment in history in the present, right now. Every second that passes becomes history, but recognized history very rarely do we realize that we are living it until it is gone.

If you can get a place or get a trip, by the way the airlines are booking up to, then I suggest this is where you be in January.
