CHICAGO-BASED TARGETED TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS ADVANCES IN FORBES “BOOST YOUR BUSINESS” CONTEST

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 20, 2008 -- NEW YORK, NY (November 3, 2008) – The readers have voted, and Forbes today announced the five finalists in its “Boost Your Business” contest, sponsored by HP. Of the finalists is Chicago’s own, Targeted Technology Solutions, an award winning manufacturer of technology tools for people with special needs. Of nearly 1,500 entrants, just five remain. The finalists have presented their business plans--including how they intend to invest the $100,000 grand prize to boost their prospects--to an expert panel of judges.

Targeted Technology Solutions is the only Chicago company to make it this far in the competition and is a woman/minority owned firm. The owner, Elizabeth Tarpley, was flown to New York to present her business plan, specifically the myPC Stage I Keyboard for toddlers, to the judging panel. Presentations were videotaped and posted on the Forbes website for further reader voting, slated to start on November 3, 2008. The grand prize winner will receive $100,000 in cash. Runners-up will be awarded HP products and services. The winner will be determined based on the number of votes cast by the public and the judging panel.

Tarpley stated, “The myPC Stage I Keyboard for toddlers distinguishes itself as the only spill proof, washable keyboard with staged-based learning attributes. We would love to win this contest and do our part to help people with special needs while growing the economy here in Chicago. The Forbes Boost Your Business Contest provides the capital to achieve both of these goals.”
