Every Thursday the couple’s life is an open book on their live webcast, "Parkinson's Disease Talk Live.” The program is recorded live every Thursday, from 7PM to 8PM (CST), and airs on the largest online talk show social site, Blog Talk Radio, and is also available on Apple’s iTunes.
Every week they share their experiences and the reality of living with Young-Onset Parkinson’s Disease. They give perspectives from both the person with the disease, as well as the spouse or caregiver. In almost a year the popularity of the webcast as grown tremendously – so much that Rich and Kim have decided to produce a second webcast called, The PD Cyber Support Group.
The PD Cyber Support Group, will air the first Tuesday of every month, from 7PM – 9PM (CST) and will broadcast on Talk Shoe, an online site for community calls. The program debuts on Tuesday, December 2, 2008. “The format at Talk Shoe is just perfect for this type of program.” Said Kim. She added, “We’ll run it almost exactly like a support group that you would attend locally, but instead of having to drive somewhere, you can participate online from the comfort of your home, office, or wherever it’s convenient for you.”
When asked, what prompted you to create two unique programs? Rich said, "I know what a tough experience this is to go through, especially at mid-life - it's hard, very hard! So my wife and I thought, what better way to take advantage of today's technology! Hopefully we can help make a better tomorrow!"
