New Technology for Treating Periodontal Disease with Laser Therapy

There is now new technology available for patient care of gum disease. The Millenium Periolase is the latest generation of the Nd:YAG laser and is designed specifically to treat periodontal disease. Another benefit of laser surgery is the antibacterial effect that helps disinfect periodontal pockets. This laser specifically targets the highly pathogenic black pigmented bacteria and is able to vaporize these bacteria safely because of very rapid 1/10,000th of second pulses which allow the tissue to cool 99.8% of the time and is safe around your dental implants and cosmetic dental restorations.
