Are Hillary Supporters Still Bitter?

Hillary supporters came out in vast numbers this year. But as the primaries got closer and closer, 25% of them said they would vote for McCain should Obama be the Democratic pick. Compare that to a 10% group of Obama supporters who said they would vote for McCain should Hillary get the honors. Well, now that the elections are over and Barack Obama will be the 44th President of the United States, you would think Hillary supporters are still upset. Or are they? Has Obama choosing her as Secretary of State somehow eased the bitterness of the hard-core Hillary supporter? I don't depend on conflicting news polls for my information. I just look at my tee shirt sales. DonkeyGoods.com is about the most Liberal t-shirt on the net. Before Obama got the nomination the sales were nearly tied. 46% Hillary merchandise to 54% Obama. Once the primaries were over I saw a steep decline in Hillary purchases. I really started to wonder, did Hillary supporters actually go to McCain?

As the election went on and Sarah Palin was introduced I thought for sure the Democratic Party had lost its Hillary fans. But as Palin began to bomb I saw a rise in Anti-Palin gear with 90% of these t-shirts being purchased by women. In the end, Obama came out on top, and the polls reflected that Hillary supporters, at least the majority of them, voted for Obama. But, my question still remained. Are they satisfied?

My question was answered on Monday 12/2 when Hillary accepted the position of Secretary of State. Immediately Hillary fans were back online buying Secretary of State t-shirts by the thousands. So, in my opinion, the party is healed of its short-term division, and we can look forward to a brighter future for our country.
