LEE COUNTY, FLORIDA BEGINS E-RECORDING WITH SIMPLIFILE

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 10, 2008 -- Simplifile announced today that under the leadership of Lee County Clerk of Court, Charlie Green, Lee County, Florida officially begins electronically recording (eRecording) land record documents such as deeds, mortgages, agreements, satisfactions, as well as many other document types.

The first electronic recordings which included an Affidavit and several Deeds in Lee County, Florida occurred on November 7, 2008 by Wilkinson Title of Fort Myers, Florida. This first electronic recording ushered in eRecording of documents by title companies, banks, and attorneys to the Lee County Clerk of Court Office through the Simplifile eRecording Service.

eRecording is the process of submitting, receiving, and processing documents for recording via the Internet that have traditionally been sent to the County for recording by runner, express mail, or courier service. eRecording simplifies and accelerates all aspects of the recording process and dramatically improves the County’s ability to serve its constituents.

“Electronically submitting documents to the Clerk of Court’s Office allows us to reclaim hours of valuable time that went into the process of recording documents. The convenience of recording documents from our own offices is invaluable,” said Betsy Wilkinson, owner of Wilkinson Title.
