Los Angeles Drug Testing Company Launches Website

For the past nine years, Real Occupational has provided Drug Testing services to employers throughout the tri-county region, specializing in the transportation industry, comprised chiefly of commercial truck driving but also including school bus drivers, taxi drivers and chauffeurs.

“Whether we’re talking about bus drivers transporting your child to school or truck drivers carrying flammable material, employers want to know that their drivers are operating within the law,” says Phelps. “Our responsibility is to perform accurate and state-of-the-art drug testing, but it is also to make sure to treat our clients’ employees warmly and respectfully when they come to test.”

Phelps’ relationship-building approach to his company has paid dividends. Many of the top bussing and trucking companies from Los Angeles to Riverside and San Bernardino have inked long-term Drug Testing service contracts with Real Occupational.

As a result of the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991, roughly 12.1 million people who are identified as “safety-sensitive” transportation employees must be tested regularly for consumption of alcohol and drugs. This includes trucking, railroads, mass transit, pipelines and other transportation industries. The Department of Transportation publishes strict rules on who must conduct these alcohol and drug tests as well as which procedures to use when testing.

Having worked for 8 years with the Department of Transportation, Phelps is well qualified to service the requirements of the DOT.
