Colorado and Denver area Builders Shine in Home Sales Market Share

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 17, 2008 -- Home Builders Research Colorado reported recently that new home sales in the communities along the Colorado Front Range continue to remain flat in some areas, and sluggish in other areas.

David Laffoon, president and primary research analyst for the firm, noted that "due to the sagging demand, most builder's sales are down notably from last year's pace. Yet, the top selling builders have remained competitive with market sales shares, in some cases excedding the market share captured by the builder last year."

Through Home Builders Research's market coverage, the firm is able to comprehensively analyze new home and lots sales, as well as track and analyze residential subdivisions in for planning approval and fees for permitting single family homes.

"We actually have 10 different counties along the Front Range area of Colorado where we regularly analyze new housing markets and published comprehensive sales reports." Laffoon added "Our coverage extends north to Larimer & Weld Counties, south the El Paso County and Colorado Springs, and of course, the Denver Metro 7-County area."

According to the most recently published housing data by Home Builders Research Colorado, the top selling builders in most of the market areas have still performed relatively well. When asked to clarify want he meant by 'relatively', David Laffoon explained "Most of the Colorado housing market areas have not dodged the bullet on sagging demand for new housing. Builder sales are down across the board for the most part. The top selling builders have also seen their sales down from a year ago. But, many of the competitive and highly ranked builders are still able to capture a share of the market equal to or even greater than their sales share a year ago."

David Laffoon has ranked the top selling builders for us, based on new home closing recorded through the first 10 months of 2008. Below, are the top five builders in the rankings for each of the four market areas analyzed by Home Builders Research in Colorado.

The Denver Metro Area includes the seven counties of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Douglas, Denver and Jefferson. Laffoon noted he also has the builder rankings for each of the seven counties in the Denver metro area.
