Welcome visit Our WebSite:
http://www.aishelhouse.org/concert The concert beneficiary, Aishel House, provides support services to in-town and out-of-town patients and their families who come to the Texas Medical Center. With comfortable accommodations, transportation, warm meals, child-care assistance, hospital chaplaincy and counseling, Aishel House offers a helping hand to all - regardless of faith or background.
Dudu Fisher, a highly talented cantor, singer and actor, famous for his role as Jean Valjean in Broadway’s Les Miserables, will perform an all-new show entitled “Jerusalem”. Despite being recognized as the world’s spiritual capital, Jerusalem has been pillaged, shattered, but on no account destroyed. She remained alive in the hearts of her people, the Jewish People, who dreamed of her, prayed toward her and sang of her. Now, through vibrant song and story, Dudu Fisher, a native-born Israeli and son of a Holocaust survivor, brings her triumphant saga to life.
Leonard Goldberg, M.D., a world-renowned authority on Mohs micrographic surgery, has in the past served as Chief of Dermatologic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, and President of the Houston Dermatological Society, and is currently a staff member of The Methodist Hospital, will be presented with Aishel House’s Rofeh Yedid (“physician and dear friend”) award. This annual award is presented to a physician who goes above and beyond the call of duty and demonstrates extraordinary individual concern for a patient – as only a true personal friend would. Previous Rofeh Yedid honorees have included: Drs. Jordan Gutterman, Roy Herbst, O.H. Frazier and Michael J. Keating.
Layne Kirshon, Volunteer of the Year, is an honor student at The Kinkaid School. Shortly after his Bar Mitzvah, Layne had undertaken a project to deliver meals to patients and their families at the Texas Medical Center. Four years later, Layne has delivered, and continues to deliver, countless meals on a regular basis, with reliability, dedication and care. Previous Volunteer of the Year honorees have included: Orna & Jacob Tsabar, Holly Skolkin and Anna Gratvol.
In addition to the above honorees, “Junior Volunteer Awards” will be presented to the following youngsters for their dedication to various volunteer projects over the past year: Andrew Alter, Lindsey Alter, Zachary Birenbaum, Michael Scheinthal, Erika Selzer, Julie Stein, Rachel Stern, Haley Sutton and Eric Uzick.
Shara Fryer, Houston’s award-winning television journalist, and a 26-year veteran at ABC-13, will emcee the event.
