The concept
Blog blog blog - there are so many of them now. What makes this one different? Do we ever get tired of reading new blogs? All these questions do come to mind, however; even with boring blogs, blogs are still one of the coolest thing since, well I don’t know - slice bread maybe? And why is that you ask? And I answer: Because, they are the expression of common everyday folks from just about anywhere on the globe you can imagine, and the genius of the internet makes it all possible. From Work at home moms and grandmothers making second incomes that would astound you to teenagers getting their feet wet online with the sole purpose of sharing their lives. It’s all there waiting for your attention and your participation.
Unity from diversity
The reason the novelty of the blog doesn’t wear off is because we know that this medium has a unique element to it. The internet. This is where people come together from the four corners of the world, with differences as wide as the miles between them all to find audience and to discover the thoughts, aspirations and opportunities others have to offer. The goals may differ but one thing is the same, the connection to one another.
The immeasurable Internet
It’s been approximately nineteen years from the inception of the internet. “It was only in 1991 that what we now call the World-Wide Web was introduced…” (Your html source – The History of the Net, Nov. 11th. 2008) And we’re just beginning the internet is still in its infancy. So, you see, reading a blog is like looking into a black hole; behind it is an immense background of so many things yet to be experienced and discovered. And the beauty of it is anyone can observe and participate.
The new culture
There are no big “i"s and small “u"s. Everyone has a fair shake in the web culture. That’s another element of blogging that makes it such a popular thing. Of course not everyone has a desire to write and many may never, but that makes it even more marketable. The remarkable thing here is even though there are many websites and blogs the market for an audience however is inexhaustible. We also see that the use of(replicable websites) such as ikarma and Google's blogspot have an enormous impact for the blogger. The ability to connect through use of links from one site to another is strength for the blogger and for those who follow blogs, because it widens the content by adding another facet. These elements help grow the culture because like-minded people want to generate excitement and pull together to share in their commonality. What we’re seeing now online is networking groups gaining a new and exciting level of participation.
So, why is this blog different? Because it’s all about life online and it represents the threshold of this emerging and ever evolving phenomenon called the internet.
