Change The World For The Cost Of A Movie Ticket With The 12for12k Challenge
Hope costs as little as $10 per month in 2009 as the 12for12k Challenge brings together the world to change the lives of millions in need.

12/30/2008- Donations to charity have dropped sharply due to the
stressed state of the economy, but the need is greater than ever.
That’s why public relations pro Danny Brown of Press Release PR has
come up with a way to make a difference in people’s lives for just a
few dollars.
Brown created the 12for12kchallenge, at http://www.12for12k.org,
with the goal of raising $12,000 per charity for 12 different charities in 2009 -
by getting 1200 people to donate just $10 each to a different charity each
month.
"The challenge is deliberately simple for one reason - I wanted to
offer the ability to be involved to as many people as possible,”
according to Brown. “$10 isn't much - it's a fast food combo meal,
one less cup of coffee, a magazine to read on the train. It's a
relatively small amount but one that can make a huge difference to
millions of lives around the world."
The first featured charity in 2009 is War Child, an award-winning
charity which provides opportunities and long term solutions for
children affected by war.
“While we may have problems and issues in our own lives, we often
forget that there are people facing many more life-threatening
challenges than we could ever hope/want to face every day of their
lives. We have the power to offer help and change to the lives of
these people and it only takes the smallest effort - hence the
"birth" of the 12for12k Challenge,” Brown said.
Brown is harnessing the power of social media to publicize the
12kfor12k Challenge, and has created a Facebook group at http://facebook.com/group.php?gid=102242335014 as well as promoting the
group through the popular social networking community Twitter.
He is being partnered in the project by various experts in their field to produce a video as well as promotional materials, all of whom are providing their services for free.
"The 12for12k Challenge is the combination of social media and fund-
raising that aims to change the lives of millions worldwide. By

tools, 12for12K looks to bring hope and optimism to those who need it
