Oran, MO January 5, 2009 -- Melody Bradley is one step closer to realizing her dream of living in a small town and using her love of spending time in the kitchen to sell her specialties locally and online at http://heavenlycreationsbymelody.ecrater.com/.
As a child, growing up in the rural Ozarks of Missouri, Melody was always watching her mother in the kitchen. Now an adult, she is passing her love for baking on to her own children and friends and family. Now, that has been extended to her clients across the country.
"Even in this economy, the love of home-baked cookies and cakes is still there," Melody says. She has been baking for bake sales at her husband's work for the past year.
"When you have young kids, you're always in the kitchen," Melody adds. "This is just a way that I can extend that love outside of our home."
The gourmet baked goods offered range from cakes and cookies to bread and muffins. She is also starting home baking classes for beginners including newlyweds and couples in February. "This is a very exciting time for our family, and our dreams are being realized," Melody says enthusiastically while holding her almost 3-year old son, Marshall.
"I'll also be adding gift baskets and jar goodies to my website in the coming weeks. I just really want this to do well, and I'm keeping it small for now." Melody plans to ship all of her goods via UPS 3-day delivery.
Heavenly Creations by Melody is a Christ-centered business, and Melody plans on keeping it that way. "God gave me the talent of pleasing bellies," She says with a smile. "As long as the Lord leads me to minister in this way, I will do it!"
Melody lives in Oran, MO; a town with a population of a little over 1200 with her husband, Justin, daughter Paige, and son Marshall. They are faithful servants at their church, Lynwood Baptist, in Cape Girardeau. They believe in giving back to the community, and Melody has been offering her baked goods as donations to the many bake sales she has been involved in.
"There's nothing like knowing you're helping out someone in need. It warms your heart."
